Who is our Support Groups for?

These small groups are for pregnant and postpartum women who find their new role challenging and who feel stressed, overwhelmed, isolated, depressed, anxious, or who are just not feeling themselves. We also welcome partners and family members.

Are you pregnant or have a baby and thought that this time of your life would be happier and more fulfilling? Did you expect something different? If so, our groups will be a place for you to meet other parents who have similar experiences.

If you believe you may be suffering from depression, anxiety or other emotional, mental  or behavioral difficulties related to having a baby, you will find our groups a trusting place to share and receive support and information.

If you are a father, partner of a new mom, or an adoptive parent and have similar concerns, we have plenty of help and information to offer you in our groups. We will provide you with resources specific to your circumstances.

Have you been diagnosed with prenatal or postpartum depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions? You will find our groups a helpful addition to your treatment process. If you are on medication or in individual treatment, attending our support groups will be an excellent adjunct to those treatment options.

It is common for women to come to our support groups in their quest to find out why they are not feeling right. They often wonder whether they have "postpartum depression" or anxiety. We offer standardized questionnaires to help you get some of these answers. Talking about your concerns in the group will further enable you to explore your difficulties and to receive proper guidance.  If you so desire, we can provide treatment recommendations  and/or referrals to counselors or doctors who specialize in working with pregnant and postpartum women. You may also take advantage of the specialized counseling/psychotherapy that we offer at WellMama.

Many participants who otherwise do not like group experiences say that being in the company of others who are in the same stage of life makes them feel less isolated and more connected. Hearing other parents talk about their "bad days" or sleepless nights can be a powerful first step on the road toward healing.

Our small group settings provide a highly intimate and laid back environment where you can relax, bring your baby if you'd like, and connect with others.

We would love to meet you and offer help. Email now to our group facilitator,
Csilla.

Remember, you can always bring your baby to our groups. For rules on others to attend: Children/Visitors.

Still have questions? Contact Csilla, the group facilitator, by email or phone (541) 231-4343.
